The 4th annual Adam Smith Conference 'Ukrainian Energy Forum'

From 26 to 28 February 2013 Kiev hosted the 4th annual Adam Smith Conference "Ukrainian Energy Forum". One day of the conference was devoted to the development of renewable energy in Ukraine. In his presentation "The wind sector in Ukraine. Trends of development” Chairman of UWEA Andriy Konechenkov informed that over the past year, the installed capacity of Ukrainian wind farms doubled. "Association conducted a survey of all Ukrainian wind farms. By the end of 2012 there were 277 MW connected to the grid, while the cumulative installed wind capacity reached 302 MW including Ostaninskaya WPP. In comparison, last year we had 151 MW installed wind capacity in Ukraine. Despite all the political and economic risks, the Ukrainian wind power market remains attractive for investments, "- said Mr. Konechenkov
