Botiyevskaya WPP has been fully commissioned this month

DTEK has completed commissioning of the second stage of its Botiyevskaya wind power plant. Thus the total installed capacity of the plant has achieved its full designed capacity of 200 MW. The Ukrainian largest wind farm is expected to generate about 600 million kWh of clean electricity annually.

Construction of the Botiyevskaya WPP was launched in 2011 with its first phase of 92.25 MW being completed in 2012. Installation of another 35 wind turbines with total capacity of 107.625 MW as part of the second phase of the wind farm was started in September 2013. In April 2014 the wind farm has been fully commissioned. Wind turbine manufacturer is Danish company Vestas.

Botiyevskaya WPP is one of the DTEK’s largest investment projects; investments into the project amounted to about 340 million euros. DTEK attracted around 245 million euro in a German bank LandesBank Berlin for construction of the first and the second phases of the project.

According to the company’s press release from April 24, 2014, two more wind power plants - Primorskaya and Berdyanskay WPPs are under development. All three wind power plants will form "DTEK Priazovsky Wind Park" in Zaporozhye region. Commissioning of the "DTEK Priazovsky Wind Park" with a total capacity of 550 MW is expected by the end of 2017.
