Since the beginning of the war unleashed by the russian federation against Ukraine, the UWEA has been involved in volunteer activities, in particular through a specially created online platform #Renewables4Ukraine (https://www.renewables4ukraine.org/ ) by UWEA and World Wind Energy Association (WWEA). In December 2022, the Finnish NGO EKOenergy ekolabel joined the #Renewables4Ukraine campaign. It was thanks to their generous donation that the local community of Irpin received several mobile solar systems.
Last week, Volodymyr Karpliuk, chairman of the Irpin Investment Council and co-founder of the Foundation of Irpin Restoration, said that solar panels had been successfully installed in “Dzhereltse” preschool department of the Irpin gymnasium "Osvita". The installed capacity of solar panels is 10 kW. The installation of solar panels was the result of the signed Memorandum of Cooperation and Partnership between the WWEA, the Foundation of Irpin Restoration, and the Irpin City Council. The panels were installed by “Green System” company with the financial support of WWEA.
We would like to recall, that on December 26, 2022, the company KNESS in Vinnytsya provided similar support to the Irpin City Primary Health Care Center in the form of two mobile solar systems with 3 kW capacity each. On March 8, 2023, autonomous mobile solar power systems with storages were also delivered to the Kozynets Family-type Outpatient Clinic in the village of Kozyntsy, Bucha District, and the Irpin Lyceum of Innovative Technologies "ILIT".
The EKOenergy-WWEA-UWEA joint project has both an energy problem-solving and educational focus, as it demonstrates the advantages of Ukraine's renewable energy sources and teaches young people how to utilize them.
