DEWI enters the Ukrainian wind market

For the first time for their activities the internationally recognized German Wind Energy Institute DEWI held a "master class" for the national wind power market participants.

DEWI seminar “Development of Wind Parks” successfully took place on November 6th, 2013, in the framework of the 5th International Investment Business Forum on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. The organizers of the event were Ukrainian Wind Energy Association and DEWI GmbH (a UL company) under support of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine.

In his welcome address to the seminar’s participants the Head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine Nikolay Pashkevich stressed the importance of holding such seminars for the successful experience gained by the European wind industry to be implemented in the Ukrainian wind projects:”We are pleased to welcome today in Ukraine the world-famous institute DEWI represented by its General Director Jens Peter Molly”.

DEWI GmbH (a UL company) is one of the leading international consultants in the field of wind energy with about 25 years experience in the global wind energy sector.

During the seminar, the issues related to the key stages in the development of wind energy projects such as: site selection, wind potential study, assessment of wind resources and energy yield, grid integration and many others were discussed. Workshop participants including representatives of such companies as: MC Wind Parks of Ukraine, Wind Power (DTEK), Konkord Group, Filasa International, Vindkraft Ukraina, Ecoprotection, law and insurance companies acquired technical knowledge necessary for the development and financing of wind projects, including the risks assessment that have a direct impact on the funding of the projects. Every participant received a DEWI Seminar Attendance Certificate.
