Two more wind turbines were commissioned at WPP "Staryi Sambir-1" on 7 October in Sambir district, Lviv region. Total capacity of the wind plant that consists of 4 Vestas 112 wind generators has reached 13.2 MW. WPP is expected to produce 36.0 mln kWh of clean electricity annually.
Speaking at the opening ceremony Head of Lviv Regional State Administration Oleg Sinyutka pointed out “Our people deserve a decent life. A decent life means work, independence, and energy independence. Today we have made our small contribution to energy independence of Ukraine".
Maxim Kozitskiy, Director of the company ECO Optima, addressing the local community stressed the importance of cooperation between local communities and a developer: "People of Starosambirschyna, thank you very much for believing in us and your help. You have built a truly industrial facility to be proud of”.
‘Wind Power Plant "Stariy Sambir 1" is a vivid example of Ukraine's implementation of its international obligations under the Paris Agreement that has been ratified by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine this year”, said Andriy Konechenkov, Head of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association.
Two more wind plants are planned for implementation by ECO Optima in the nearest future - Staryi Sambir-2 wind farm (project capacity – 19.8 MW) and Skoliv wind farm (project capacity – 46.2 MW).
