Decree by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine “ On the National Renewable Energy Action Plan through 2020” # 902–p from October 1, 2014
According to the EC Decree D / 2012/04 / MC-EnC Ukraine committed itself to reach the level of 11% of energy produced from renewable energy sources in the total energy consumption of the country by 2020. The country also provides to reach 2.28 GW of wind capacity, or 21% in the production of electricity from the RES. Approximate volume of funding required to meet the goals, is about 40.4 billion UAH ($ 3.11 billion).
During the first half of 2014 new 126/5 MW wind capacities were added in the country bringing its total up to 497,6 MW (including 87,7 MW in the Crimea) by June 30, 2014.
