Authorization
On September 11th, a member of the UWEA, the German company Notus Energy, with twenty years of experience in implementing wind projects totaling over 1600 MW in 13 countries worldwide, signed a Memorandum with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, the State Agency of Ukraine for Exclusion Zone Management, and NPC "Ukrenergo" on cooperation in wind energy development within the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.
The Memorandum aims to strengthen cooperation and is of paramount importance for the development of renewable energy, sustainable development in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, enhancing Ukraine's energy independence, and ensuring clean generation in an energy-deficient region.
This collaboration will stimulate innovation, knowledge exchange, and the adoption of best practices in renewable energy, which, in turn, will contribute to the efficient use of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone and the development of new opportunities for the sustainable growth of energy infrastructure.
The event was attended by the German Minister of Foreign Affairs, Annalena Baerbock, who expressed support for the project and emphasized the importance and symbolism of wind energy development in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.
