CHITEC – Road to International Cooperation

China Beijing International High-tech Expo (CHITEC) is a regularly held large national high-tech expo with the approval from the State Council. The CHITEC integrates exhibition, forums and conferences.
This year it was the 16th edition of the CHITEC which was jointly hosted by several ministries of China and the Beijing Municipal Government in the period from May 21 till May 26, 2013.

In the frame of the 16th CHITEC there were 8 forums successfully conducted including Forum on China Strategic Emerging Industry Development.

The leaders of the CHITEC host ministries, some officials of international organizations, famous scholars and officials related were participated in the Forum and exchanged their ideas on hot topics. Technologies and equipment of Chinese origin presented at the 16th CHITEC were clear proof of the rapid development of innovative solutions in China.

Andriy Konechenkov, Chairman of the Board of the UWEA and Board member of the WWEA was invited to participate in the event and make a presentation on wind energy status worldwide and in the CIS region with focus on Ukraine.  During his presentation at the Forum Andiy Konechenkov stressed “China plays a very strong role in the global wind market. In 2012 the country accounted for 29% of the world market. The prospects for the Chinese market are very positive. According to the experts of WWEA the country’s aim to reach 100 GW of total wind capacity by 2015 most likely will be over fulfilled. Ukraine today is the undisputed leader in the wind energy sector in the CIS region.  Cooperation between Ukraine and China will have a positive influence on the further wind development in the CIS countries”.
