Public Council at the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine chaired by Andriy Konechenkov, Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association, appealed to the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych regarding the Draft Updated Energy Strategy of Ukraine, currently being available for public discussion at the website of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine. In their letter addressed to the President of Ukraine, the Public Council's members expressed their big concern on the understatement of energy efficiency measures and renewable energies in the above mentioned document and called on the President to take action to mandatory improvement of a Draft Updated Energy Strategy, taking into account all the proposals made by the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine,relevant ministries, professional associations and other expert institutions.
