ELEMENTUM ENERGY TO BUILD THREE MINI WIND FARMS IN THE ODESA REGION

Elementum Energy, the UWEA’s member company, whose shareholder is the British investor VR Global Partners, L.P., is preparing to build three mini wind farms with a total capacity of 58.5 MW. The Danube project, which will consist of the Kiliya, Artsyz, and Artsyz-2 wind farms, each with an installed capacity of 19.5 MW, will be implemented in the Odesa region. According to the company, the annual production of "green" electricity from each wind farm is expected to be around 66 GWh, which will be sufficient to save 48,708 tons of carbon emissions annually.

In addition to powering a total of 90,000 households, creating new jobs, and contributing to the global climate agenda, this project will also affirm Elementum Energy's commitment to the principle of "build back better," a concept used to describe Ukraine's post-war economic recovery. “Currently, the Government is focusing on distributed generation technologies that can be easily and quickly deployed, such as gas piston and other stations. Businesses with low energy consumption are installing mini photovoltaic stations on rooftops and facades. We, in turn, are focusing on the principle of building back better, which includes investing in mini wind farms,” the company's press release states.

This type of distributed generation, such as mini wind farms, is a justified solution during the large-scale war, as they are built closer to the places where electricity is consumed, making them more compact and, therefore, more resilient to military actions. "Distributed generation is important for achieving energy security," the company asserts.

The UWEA congratulates Elementum Energy on the confident progress of another wind energy project, which will go down in the company's portfolio as one implemented during the brutal and bloody war that russia has waged against Ukraine. Meanwhile, Elementum Energy will be etched into the history of the national wind energy sector as a company that bravely worked for the benefit of Ukrainian consumers despite all the challenges and country risks.
