FIRST 10 WIND TURBINES OF OCHAKOVSKAYA WPP HAVE BEEN PUT INTO OPERATION

First ten wind turbines Fuhrlander FL-2500 with total capacity of 25 MW were commissioned at Ochakovskaya WPP on December 19, 2011. The project has been implementing by “Wind Park ”Ochakovsky” LLC. Electricity generated from wind will be fed into the grid of Nikolaev oblenergo (regional grid operator) and supplied to the consumers of Ochakov district, Nikolaev region. Estimated annual electricity production is 72 000 MWh.

Wind turbine manufacturer has not only supplied wind turbines but provided technical supervision of erection and installation of the machines. The first phase of the wind farm was constructed in the record time – less than six months.  Four more phases of Ochakovskaya WPP with total installed capacity of around 100 MW are planned to be commissioned in 2012.

Heads of state administration of Nikolaev region, management of “Wind Park ”Ochakovsky” LLC, representatives of local authorities and mass media attended the opening ceremony of the first phase of the Ochakovskaya WPP.

In general, Nikolaev region accounts for about 10% of the wind potential of the country. According to experts, this region is one of the most attractive to Ukrainian wind industry. Other areas of significant wind resource in the region except Ochakiv district include Berezan, Bashtansky, Zhovtnevyi districts.
