On November 7th, 2013, the draft National Action Plan for Renewable Energy till 2020 was presented in the framework of the 5th International Investment Business Forum on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy and the 6th International fair trade “Energy Efficiency. Renewable Energy - 2013” organized by the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine.
According to the National Action Plan for Renewable Energy share of energy generated from renewable energy sources should be no less than 11% (including large hydro) of the total energy consumption. The draft was developed through a joint project implemented by UNIDO "Improving energy efficiency and promoting renewable energy in the agro-food and other small and medium enterprises in Ukraine."
"The draft National Action Plan for development of renewable energy in Ukraine till 2020 corresponds to the Ukraine’s commitments under the Energy Community. The adoption of the National Action Plan offers broad development prospects for wind industry in Ukraine. Thus, the share of wind energy in electricity generation should reach 26.5% by 2020.
