UWEA EXPANDS COOPERATION WITH THE INSTITUTE OF GENERAL ENERGY OF THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES OF UKRAINE

On October 23, 2024, in Kyiv, a Memorandum of Partnership and Cooperation was signed between the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association (UWEA) and the Institute of General Energy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Through this Memorandum, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to collaborate on the effective and balanced development of Ukraine's energy sector, its "green" transformation, and post-war recovery. The organizations agreed to promote the use and experience of wind energy, explore modern wind power technologies, and work toward strengthening the national wind energy industry.

Andriy Konechenkov, Chairman of UWEA's Board:

Today’s wind energy sector requires, among other things, a solid scientific approach, especially when it comes to planning the effective integration of wind power into Ukraine’s overall energy system and developing a national wind energy industry. That’s why broad cooperation with various institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine has always been welcomed by our Association. I am confident that the partnership with the Institute of General Energy of the NAS of Ukraine will extend beyond the provisions of this Memorandum. Both parties have the professional and technical resources to implement diverse projects and ideas. In particular, the Institute possesses a robust technical base for conducting system analysis and forecasting the development of the energy sector and energy consumption, as well as for monitoring and diagnosing the technical condition and environmental impact of energy systems and facilities, which will be crucial for the industry's future development.

Vitaliy Babak, Director of the Institute of General Energy of NAS of Ukraine:

The signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between our Institute and the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association is an important step toward advancing renewable energy in Ukraine. Wind energy is one of the key components of the energy transition we aim to implement in our country, considering the climate challenges and the need to reduce dependency on traditional energy sources. Our collaboration will combine the scientific potential of the Institute with the practical experience of the Association, facilitating the development of new technologies, research, and the implementation of innovative solutions in the wind energy sector. I am confident that through our joint efforts, we can contribute to the sustainable development of the sector and enhance Ukraine's energy security.

UWEA is pleased to welcome the Institute of General Energy of NAS of Ukraine to its community of reliable partners and looks forward to fruitful cooperation for the benefit of Ukraine!
