THE UWEA BOARD HAS DETERMINED THE DIRECTIONS OF THE ASSOCIATION'S ACTIVITIES FOR THE COMING YEARS

On October 25, 2024, the UWEA Board members convened in Kyiv in a hybrid format to address critical industry challenges, exchange insights on resolving pressing market issues, and align on key strategic initiatives for the coming years. Discussions spanned a variety of topics, including the operation of the Commercial Risk Guarantee Fund, policies to encourage consumers to sign corporate PPAs, the effectiveness of national policies in advancing renewable energy and wind power, the current state of small-scale and offshore wind markets in Ukraine, and the potential for projects using refurbished wind turbines.

Andriy Konechenkov, Chairman of the UWEA Board, opened the meeting by sharing the latest industry updates, legislative changes, the status of payments to wind energy producers, and UWEA’s achievements over the past three quarters. “I am pleased to announce that our Association is actively growing. Today, UWEA comprises 95 companies, and with pending membership applications, we are on the verge of reaching 100. I extend my gratitude to all companies who have chosen the UWEA and have stayed with us over the years. This motivates us to be even more active and effective,” he remarked.

A special agenda item was the renewal of the UWEA Board. “We aim not only for strong representation of key wind power operators and developers but also for gender balance,” noted Konechenkov, introducing the newly appointed Board member Natalia Hutarevych, Senior Counsel at Sayenko Kharenko, UWEA’s co-founder company. Ms. Hutarеvych joins the Board, succeeding Nazar Chernyavsky, who represented the law firm on the Board over the past two years.

Wind Farm LLC also saw a change in its representation, with Oleksandr Molyboh, the company’s Chief Energy Engineer, stepping in for Yuriy Zhabskyi, who will remain an honored guest of future Board meetings.

Finally, Ruslan Soichuk from Vindkraft Ukraine LLC has temporarily stepped down from the Board.

The UWEA extends its sincere appreciation to Mr. Chernyavsky, Mr. Zhabskyy, and Mr. Soichuk for their dedication to the Association, wishing them continued success in their wind energy ventures.
