WIND ENERGY MARKET OF UKRAINE HALF YEAR REPORT 2013

All wind power plants in Ukraine generated more than 317 mln kWh of electricity during the first six months of 2013, accounting for 0.33% of the state's total electricity production for this period.

 

"Green" electricity generated from wind and supplied to the Ukrainian power grid, has reduced CO2 emissions by 256,000 tons.

 

According to a survey conducted by the experts of Ukrainian Wind Energy Association (UWEA) from January 1, 2013 to June 30, 2013 18.32 MW of new wind energy capacity were added in Ukraine. The total wind capacity reached 315.76 MW by June 30, 2013 out of which 290.76 MW were fully grid connected and have been selling electricity at "green" tariff. In addition, the construction works have started on a number of sites located in Lugansk, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions as well as in the Crimea. The total investment amounted to about 84 mln euro.

 

UWEA expects a national installed wind capacity of about 500 MW by the end of 2013 - the first decade of 2014.

Managing Company Wind Parks of Ukraine, LLC and Wind Power (DTEK), LLC retain their leading positions in the Ukrainian wind energy industry.

 

For a half year period the 12 wind turbines were erected and put into operation at 6 wind power plants.
