On 15 June every year the world community celebrate the Global Wind Day. In many countries people organize and participate in numerous activities promoting wind as a clean and renewable energy source. The purpose of the Global Wind Day, coordinated by the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) and the Global Wind Council (GWEC), is to increase the awareness of decision-makers and the society regarding the potential of wind energy, the inexhaustibility of wind resources and the positive effects of large-scale use of energy from renewable sources.
To celebrate Global Wind Day UWEA traditionally holds a press conference. This year press conference Wind Power – the Road to Energy Independence of Ukraine is taking place on June 13 at the press center of the Internet-edition Obozrevatel (Observer).
