Last week, on 17 April 2026, Kyiv hosted a landmark event for the Ukrainian renewable energy market – the official 100 gREen AWARD-2025 ceremony. This marks the first time Ukraine has established a national award to recognize excellence in implementing green transformation projects across wind and solar power, energy storage, bioenergy, and energy efficiency.
This year, 18 projects from across Ukraine were named laureates — ranging from industrial enterprises to university campuses, and from municipal water utilities to wind farms in the Carpathian Mountains. They all share a common trait: these are not merely plans or concepts, but real, operational solutions that are already reshaping the country’s energy landscape.
As a co-founder of Global 100 RE Ukraine – a platform uniting leading industry associations to facilitate Ukraine’s transition to 100% renewable energy – UWEA is especially proud to announce that five of the 18 laureates are our member companies.
Wind Parks of Ukraine – "Nyzhni Vorota" Wind Farm “Leader of Regional Wind Energy Transformation”
This award recognizes courage and perseverance. The Nyzhni Vorota Wind Farm is the first wind power plant in the history of the Zakarpattia region — a territory where wind energy previously existed only on potential resource maps. Delivering such a project amidst a full-scale war is a testament to the team’s resilience and their unwavering faith in the future of the Ukrainian energy sector.
VOLTAGE Group – Megawatt-Class Industrial Energy Storage “Leader in Industrial Energy Storage”
While wind and solar generation are the heart of renewable energy, energy storage serves as its nervous system. VOLTAGE Group has implemented a megawatt-class industrial Battery Energy Storage System for a manufacturing company's internal needs, successfully pairing renewable generation with operational stability. Such projects demonstrate that green energy is no longer just about ecology, but about business reliability and economics.
Atlas Global Energy – 63 MW Wind Farm, Lviv Region “Best Investment Project in Wind Energy”
Launching 63 MW of installed capacity in the Lviv region during active hostilities is a powerful signal to the international community: Ukraine remains a viable market for large-scale renewable energy investments. Projects like this represent more than just megawatts; they build trust, reputation, and future opportunities for the entire industry.
GREEN SYSTEM – Solar Network for 10 Kindergartens “Best Clean Energy Project for Pre-school Education”
Energy independence for educational institutions is about more than just renewables; it is primarily about children’s safety and the stability of social infrastructure during outages. Ten kindergartens in the Bucha and Myrhorod communities will now be powered by solar energy. To ensure a reliable supply, these solar systems are integrated with GREEN SYSTEM energy storage solutions. This is a prime example of technology serving communities where it matters most.
KNESS – Energy Storage Portfolio with over 140 MWh total capacity “Leader in Energy Storage / Enhancing Grid Flexibility”
Rounding out our five winners is KNESS, with one of the largest energy storage portfolios in Ukraine. Seven energy storage facilities are already operational, and since October 2025, they have been providing ancillary services to the power system. This is not a pilot or a test; it is a fully functional new infrastructure that enhances grid flexibility and paves the way for further scaling of renewable generation.
