As a first concrete step under the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation signed between the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association (UWEA) and Ternopil Ivan Puluj National Technical University (TNTU) on 06 April 2026, a training workshop was held for faculty members of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Department of Computer-Integrated Technologies, and Department of Automotive Transport and Logistics.
The workshop was conducted by Vestas, a global leader in wind turbine manufacturing. Over the course of six hours, university faculty had the opportunity to deepen their expertise in wind energy technologies – spanning the evolution of wind power installations and technical specifications of various platforms, through to key turbine components, safety systems, hydraulics, controls, and SCADA communications.
The session was delivered by Alfredo José Martínez, an instructor at the Vestas MED Service & Construction Academy, a specialist with extensive experience in wind farm maintenance and construction.

Building strong ties between academic institutions and the real economy is one of the key priorities for the sustainable development of the sector. The memorandum between UWEA and TNTU provides for continued, systematic cooperation in the areas of education and human capital development within the renewable energy sector in Ukraine. This will enable Ukrainian universities to integrate practical case studies into their curricula, keep pace with the latest advances in renewable energy technology, and prepare graduates who meet the demands of the modern market.
