On 15 November 2019, DTEK in the partnership with the Danish company Vestas commissioned 100 MW Orlivska Wind Power Plant in Zaporizhzhia region. In this way, the company has reached one of its strategic goals - 1 GW of renewable energy by 2020. Orlivska WPP is the third DTEK wind power project. The plant is located on the shore of the Sea of Azov in Zaporizhzhia Region and consists of 26 high-tech wind turbines manufactured by Vestas, 3.8 MW each. The investments in the Orlivska WPP project amounted to 131 million euros, 40 million euros of them are services and equipment supplied by the Ukrainian companies. Orlivska WPP will generate annually 380 mln kWh of green electricity, which is enough to supply 190 thousand private households. The plant will reduce CO2 emissions by 400 thousand tons per year. On 1 November 2019, DTEK commissioned the second phase of their Prymorska Wind Farm - Prymorska Wind Power Plant 2 (WPP). From that day onwards 52 turbines totalling 200 MW generate environmentally friendly electricity. Prymorska Wind Farm is located in the Zaporozhzhia region at two sites spaced about 50 km apart: in Prymorskiy district – Prymorska WPP 1 and in Pryazovskiy district - Prymorska WPP 2, each with 100 MW installed capacity. 26 GE 3.8-130 wind turbines with a rotor diameter of 130 m are installed at Prymorska WPP 1, while 26 GE 3.8-137 wind turbines with a rotor diameter of 137 m are installed at Prymorska WPP 2. All wind turbines are manufactured by General Electric. The unit capacity of each wind turbine is 3.8 MW. Prymorska Wind Farm will generate about 700 mln kWh per year, which is enough to supply 360 thousand households with electricity. According to the Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats (hereinafter - the Berne Convention) and the Association Agreement between the Ukraine and the European Union, the European Atomic Energy Community and their member states, Ukraine has made commitments to developing Emerald Network, the main task of which is to ensure a favourable status for the conservation of wildlife and natural habitats of European importance. Since 2018, the Berne Convention Standing Committee has received 3 complaints about possible threats to such Emerald sites as Polonina Borzhva (UA0000263) in the Transcarpathian region, Zatoky (UA 0000214) in the Kherson region and Cholhynskyi (UA0000178) in the Lviv region that could be caused by construction of wind power plants there. WIND FARM LLC together with NPC Ukrenergo and DMCC ENGINEERING LLC has developed a unique for Ukraine grid connection scheme for a wind power plant (WPP) with installed capacity of 800 MW in Nikolsky and Mangush districts of Donetsk region. The simulation of the scheme includes calculations of electric modes of operation, dynamic stability, estimation of loading of crossings of the Unified Power System of Ukraine and proves that WPP does not negatively affect the grid. This connection scheme not only connects the new WPP to the grid, but also has a great social effect. The substation PS 220 kV Azovskaya, which feeds the entire western part of Mariupol, has a significant shortage of electricity. Donetsk region has one of the worst power quality supplies in Ukraine. On 25-27 September 2019 Tashkent hosted a three-day international investment conference “Energy Week Uzbekistan 2019” organised by the British company “Invest in Network”. The UWEA was an official information partner of the event.
