According to Press Release provided by the company "Vindkraft Ukraine", the company has commissioned its two wind power plants (WPP) Stavki and Beregovaya totaling 21,5 MW. The wind farms construction of which began in June 2013, will generate annually about 70 mln kWh of clean electricity.WPP Stavki with installed capacity of 9,2 MW began operating in February 2014. The plant is located in Kalanchakskiy district, Kherson region, and consists of 3 wind turbines with unit capacity of 3,075 MW. WPP Beregovaya totaling 12,3 MW and comprising 4 wind turbines of 3,075 MW each is located in Skadovsk district of Kherson region. The plant started commercial operations in March 2014.

The purpose of the Global Wind Day, coordinated by the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) and the Global Wind Council (GWEC), is to increase the awareness of decision-makers and the society regarding the potential of wind energy, the inexhaustibility of wind resources and the positive effects of large-scale use of energy from renewable sources.To celebrate Global Wind Day UWEA traditionally holds a press conference. The number of people working in the global renewable energy industry grew by 14% to 6.5 million in 2013, according to a new report from the International Renewable Energy Agency (Irena). The biggest renewable sector employer worldwide is the solar panel industry, which employed 2.27 million people, according to Irena, a body comprising 168 member nations. Biofuels, with 1.45 million, and wind power, with 0.83 million, were the next biggest employers. The largest employer by country is China, with 2.6 million jobs. Two-thirds of these jobs are in solar, in which employment has trebled in two years. Brazil, with 0.89 million jobs, and the US, with 0.63 million, are the next biggest renewable employment nations, with both countries having large biofuel sectors. DTEK has completed commissioning of the second stage of its Botiyevskaya wind power plant. Thus the total installed capacity of the plant has achieved its full designed capacity of 200 MW. The Ukrainian largest wind farm is expected to generate about 600 million kWh of clean electricity annually. Construction of the Botiyevskaya WPP was launched in 2011 with its first phase of 92.25 MW being completed in 2012. Installation of another 35 wind turbines with total capacity of 107.625 MW as part of the second phase of the wind farm was started in September 2013. On April 9, 2014, the Global Wind Energy Council launched its Global Wind Report - Annual Market Update, updating the status of the global industry, along with market projections for the years 2014-2018. GWEC expects installations of at least 47 GW in 2014, a dramatic increase over 2013 levels. The market will be led by China, but with strong recovery in the US market, and record installations in Canada and Brazil; and hundreds of MW in South Africa."The global market is back on track for 2014", said Steve Sawyer, GWEC Secretary General. Global installed wind power capacity increased by 12.4 percent to more than 318 GW in 2013. Capacity rose from around 283 GW at the end of 2012, data from the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) showed.However, installations slowed in 2013 to about 35.5 GW, almost 10 GW less than a year earlier mostly on a drop in the United States. "Outside of Europe and the U.S., the global market grew modestly last year, led by China and an exceptionally strong year in Canada," GWEC Secretary General Steve Sawyer said in a statement. "China is a growth market again which is good news for the industry. The government's commitment to wind power has been reinforced once again by raising the official target for 2020 to 200 GW, and the industry has responded."
